The New Year is a time of reflection and anticipation, and although memories are always held in our hearts and minds, there is nothing like a great photo to preserve the moment forever. For many, posing in pictures is a piece of cake, but for some of us, it comes with a bit of anxiety. If you fall into the latter category, try hard to overcome your photo phobia because down the line, you will cherish those memories that can never be re-captured.
The GOOD NEWS is there are lots of tricks to get you camera ready, so be sure to check out our latest Facebook Post for a great link to simple posing tips that will have you paparazzi-worthy in no time! Then, with your fab pictures in hand, follow these rules to preserve the magic for years to come...
Rule #1: Less is More
This rule can't be taken at face value (no pun intended!). What we really mean is that you should take plenty of shots and then carefully save only your favorites. Be realistic. You are NEVER going to have the time or patience to sift through thousand of photos. You will, however, really appreciate that you have great keepers from all memorable occasions.
Rule #2: Save as you Go
Sort through the shots you've taken as soon as possible after every photo-taking session and select the best carefully. Ditch the rest to free up space so you always have your collection under control.
Rule #3: Save Safely
Traditional photo albums are nostalgic and terrific as long as you keep them in dry locations, but discs, USB drives or cloud-based storage options work well, too. The choice is yours!
Rule #4: Frame the Cream of the Crop
Don't leave your picture frames empty! A great way to enjoy multiple shots without too much frame clutter is a digital photo frame. The newest versions link to Wifi so you can even update the collection remotely.
When you master posing and have a manageable storage plan, it's easy to resolve that there will be no more "running from the camera" allowed in 2017...
So, enjoy every moment, SMILE, and have the HAPPIEST NEW YEAR EVER!!

With holiday shopping in full swing, here's a gentle reminder to use the #1 Dress to Impress smart buyer plan before you hit the mall or your computer...MAKE A DETAILED LIST!!
This sounds simple, but we all know how easy it is to stray when we're on a shopping mission. Remember that time you were looking for black pants and came home with a pink cashmere sweater instead? It happens to the best of us. A clothing/gift list keeps you focused just like your standard grocery shopping list. That's because every time you see something that is not on it as you're browsing, the list becomes a tangible prompt to stay on point! When making yours, be sure to list the items you are looking for in order of priority, and delight in crossing them off or deleting them as you make your purchases.
Even though there is something comforting about keeping a handwritten list, consider putting yours in your smartphone instead. That way, you'll never leave home without it!
Staying organized is a big help any time of year but is especially important during the hectic holiday season, so really try to follow this simple tip from your "DTI elves" and Santa (the #1 gift giver!)...
