With the holidays fast approaching, many of us will find ourselves spending some time living out of a suitcase. Whether it's heading to spend time with family and friends or getting away for a well deserved vacation, you don't want to fall victim to poor packing! Here are a few simple tips to make the the prep less stressful!
STICK TO A COLOR PALETTE
Pick a neutral base like black, brown, grey or navy. Use this for your simplest go-to pieces, shoes, accessories and outerwear and then pick one or two complimentary shades to mix and match with it. This gives you less to tote but maximum versatility!
LEARN TO ROLL AND FOLD
Adapt your packing style to the type of bag you're using.
Roll your clothes if you're carrying a duffle or an unstructured bag. It works especially well for casual items and can really maximize space. Here's how: For pants or jeans, fold them in half lengthwise with back pockets facing out and roll as tight as you can from the cuffs to the waistband. For a shirt or dress, fold each sleeve backward, fold the entire piece in half lengthwise, and then roll from the bottom hem up.
Folding is best for a structured suitcase. Check out the picture tutorial below if your skills can use a refresh!
MAKE USE OF PRACTICAL PACKING ACCESSORIES
Waterproof travel bags and pouches in assorted sizes are lifesavers. They can hold toiletries, jewelry, socks, undergarments, delicate items, shoes, and even dirty laundry during your trip, all while keeping your packed bag much neater.
In general, staying neat is the name of the game for a stress-free suitcase. It might take a little extra time, but making an effort to be an organized traveler is well worth it. So, here's to packing like a pro this holiday season!

Ok, our October style pick for any age goes to...the statement SLEEVE!!!
Big bells, balloons, pleated, ladylike lace or edgy fishnet...they all score high marks in chic and are going strong for Fall/Winter 2017.
Here's a tip: if you go really big with your sleeve, try belting your waist so you're not completely lost in the voluminous fabric. The dramatic sleeve is a favorite of ours because it works for a woman of any age and there's an option for everyone's personal style. With the weather turning cooler, you may find it difficult to wear with blazers or jackets but that's no problem at all. Pop on a great poncho to keep you warm and doubly stylish!
